Aleksandra Miarecka-Idzi
Operations Manager


Roles at Adapt: Aleks places orders with suppliers and monitors them to ensure delivery times are met. She also monitors sales forecasts to ensure there are sufficient stock levels, looks after inventory and goods in/out and communicates with suppliers with regards to customers specific requirements.

Background: Previously, Aleks worked as an Inventory and Customer Service Administrator in a logistics company, investigating and resolving stock discrepancies and coordinating stock transfers.

Qualifications: Degree in International Relations at the University of Economics in Poznan, Poland.

Interests: Aleks enjoys running and recently completed her first 10K run. She also goes horse riding and cycling regularly.

Michael Leighton
Sales Suport


Roles at Adapt: Michael's role in Sales Support is to ensure that all orders are correct in terms of pricing and description of items required. Answer any customer queries regarding products, quotes orders and deliveries. 

Background:The earlier part of Michael's career was in Banking/Finance with a stint in the Print Industry.

Interests: Michael's interests revolve around motorcycles, sailboats and Jess the dog!

Twyla Howse - Sales Manager

Pauline McKay
Financial Director & General Manager


Roles at Adapt: Pauline’s role in Adapt is as Financial Director and General Manager and keeping the office and Sage Accounts running smoothly.

Background: Pauline's experience includes secretarial roles to management, running a family retail business and working as an Operations Manager in manufacturing company for 20 years.

Qualifications: Educated at Worcester Grammar School for Girls. 7 passes at O Level standard. Studied at Secretarial College for 2 years: qualified in R.S.A. Stages 1, 2 and 3 in Shorthand, Typing, Book-keeping.

Interests: Loves her dogs, Pip and Bob, as well as walking in the countryside, reading, gardening and generally keeping busy and active.

Pauline McKay - Financial Director & General Manager

Garry McKay
UK Managing Director & International Design Director


Roles at Adapt: Garry’s role involves the day-to-day running of the business and augmenting sales support in the UK, as well as managing special design projects in the UK and Europe. Garry also travels to Europe, the US, Hong Kong and China, to the other Adapt sites, directing the global design effort.

Background: Garry has worked in the office furniture industry since 1991. He took a 6 year break to gain experience in technical sales before focusing back on design, working across Europe, the US and China, both as Design Director for an ergonomic products manufacturer and as a consultant for G McKay Design Ltd. In 2009 Adapt UK was formed and Garry became Managing Director and Design Director for the Adapt group Worldwide.

Qualifications: BA Honours Degree in Furniture & Industrial Design at Trent Polytechnic. BTEC in General Art & Design.

Interests: Keeping fit at his local gym, martial arts (he gained his 1st black belt in 2001), carrying out renovations on his home and pretty much anything to do with cars.

Garry McKay - Managing Director

Hannah Johnson
Customer Service


Roles at Adapt: Hannah deals with Customer Service for Adapt and our sales agent, Ergo Squad, dealing with customer questions and queries, processing orders, invoicing and sending out statements. She also helps to identify new customers and works very closely with her colleagues to fulfill the needs of the customer and ensure a smooth order process.

Background: Hannah first started working at Adapt as soon as she completed her A Levels. She started an apprenticeship scheme with us and achieved her Business and Administration NVQ.

Qualifications: Business and Administration NVQ. Hannah also looks forward to furthering her qualifications by completing an AAT in Accounting Level 2 and gaining Sage Certification in the very near future.

Interests: Hannah likes to set herself new challenges to complete, and also enjoys going to new places.

Garry McKay - Managing Director

Nigel Oxtoby
Warehouse Manager


Roles at Adapt: Nigel’s role involves running all aspects of Adapt warehousing from product realisation and picking and packing of orders, to full stock listings. Nigel is also involved in the smooth running of the company ISO 9001 and ISO 14000 certification.  

Background: Nigel worked as a cabinet maker before moving into engineering as a Miller/ Grinder of Engine components, which later led into automotive component prototyping. A move into Warehouse and Logistic Management saw Nigel running goods in/out, as well as several other departments for a local business, before joining Adapt in 2010.

Interests: Nigel enjoys running, swimming and cycling and is hoping to enter into a triathlon later in the year.

Nigel Oxtoby - Warehouse Manager

Mary Dickison
Product Designer


Roles at Adapt: Mary is responsible for UK design, focusing mainly on customer design requests, taking products through from concept to manufacture, as well as designing a range of marketing materials. She also designed and built the new company website and maintains the company’s social media.

Background: After a year at Adapt as a Design Intern for her university placement, and with our support throughout her final year of university, she re-joined the team after completing her degree. Prior to this, Mary has worked in retail and as a web assistant, as well as doing freelance graphic design work.

Qualifications: 1st class Honours Degree in BSc Product Design at the University of Sussex. AS level in Design & Technology.

Interests: Mary likes travelling and has just joined the gym!
